A Highly Flexible Walking Escape in the Dolomites

6 Days / 5 Nights

Discover the dramatic beauty of the Italian Alps at your own pace. This flexible walking holiday combines spectacular scenery, authentic alpine culture, and complete freedom of choice — from gentle panoramic strolls to challenging mountain hikes.

Day 1 — Arrival in the Dolomites

Arrive via VeniceInnsbruck, or Verona and transfer by private shuttle or rental car to your alpine base in either Val Gardena or Alta Badia.

Check in to a charming mountain hotel or elegant lodge featuring spa facilities and panoramic views.

Spend the afternoon settling in with a relaxed village walk or enjoying coffee and traditional pastries. In the evening, join a welcome dinner showcasing regional South Tyrolean cuisine.

Flexible option: Guided village orientation or a short forest walk, depending on your arrival time.

Day 2 — Alpine Meadows and Panoramic Landscapes

Enjoy an easy to moderate panoramic walk through flowering alpine meadows (approx. 4–5 hours), surrounded by breathtaking views of Sassolungo and the Sella Group.

Stop for lunch at a traditional mountain hut (“rifugio”), where local specialties such as dumplings and apple strudel are served.

In the afternoon, you may continue hiking, descend by cable car, or unwind in your hotel’s wellness area. The evening offers an optional wine tasting featuring regional South Tyrolean wines.

Flexible option: Choose between a gentle meadow circuit (easy) or a longer ridge walk (moderate).

Day 3 — Legendary Dolomite Peaks

Today’s highlight is a guided hike around Tre Cime di Lavaredo (3–6 hours, depending on the chosen route), one of the world’s most iconic mountain landscapes, famous for its dramatic rock towers.

A scenic picnic prepared by your hotel will be enjoyed in the mountains. The afternoon offers time for relaxation or a photography session with a local guide.

In the evening, experience an atmospheric dinner in a traditional mountain refuge.

Flexible option: Full panoramic circuit (challenging) or a shorter walk with additional leisure time.

Day 4 — Lakes, Nature, and Culture

Explore pristine alpine landscapes on a morning walk to stunning mountain lakes such as Lago di Braies or Lago di Carezza.

In the afternoon, choose between relaxation or cultural discovery. Visit Bolzano and explore the renowned South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, home to the famous Ötzi the Iceman, or enjoy an optional wellness session. Alternatively, explore the region by e-bike through scenic mountain valleys.

The day concludes with a festive farewell dinner accompanied by traditional Tyrolean music.

Flexible option: Lake hike, cultural excursion, cycling tour, or rest day.

Day 5 — Departure
